Concept Development · Visual Design · Branding

As a creative project, I developed an independent identity system for the University of Houston’s annual Digifest — a showcase of digital media talent. This exploration allowed me to imagine how the event could be visually represented through a theme and design system that captured the energy and diversity of the work being presented.
I chose the theme INTERSECT to reflect the convergence of technology, creativity, and culture — a space where disciplines, ideas, and people connect. This concept became the foundation for the visual direction, emphasizing collaboration, innovation, and the shared spirit of exploration that defines Digifest.
Drawing from that idea, I crafted a design language using bold, vibrant color palettes, clean contemporary typography, and playful graphic motifs. The visual system was designed to feel fresh and dynamic, representing the cutting-edge nature of the student projects while remaining flexible across potential applications like posters, animations, signage, and social media graphics.
This project not only strengthened my skills in brand identity and design systems, but also gave me the freedom to creatively interpret and celebrate the ingenuity of the University of Houston’s digital media community.
